Aloha All!!
I finally got a date!  I am happy, scared, nervous, excited, impatient, somewhat fearful, and grateful grateful grateful!!
How can one phone call bring all that up!!  The date is 10/21/08 and it just HAPPENS to be the day before my birthday! What a present! To start a new life!!  I'm blessed.

I can't help but wonder WHAT will it be like?  I read EVERYONE who just had surgery (and all the rest of COURSE!) but those who just had....seem to have my attention for obvious reasons.  Today I learned that puking is normal for some and not like it used to be, that any question (ANY!!) is OK to ask! That diarrhea is not dumping, and is sometimes normal, and normal is what ever it turns out to be!

I'm hoping to have a surgery without complications (and no puking or diarrhea would be nice)and I feel confident that what I see and read here will be essential to my recovery and continuing lifestyle. I cannot TELL you how helpful EVERYONE'S posting is!!  The whole topic of vitamins was something I was prepared to just ignore, and here I just learned about B12 and how ESSENTIAL it is!  who knew?
Just so you all know--that for me, you are all Angels.

The 3 most important things you can do now and for the rest of your life is 1) take your vitamins 2) Drink your water 3) walk (or exercise) without doing these thing you will jeopardize your health, that you are trying to gain with WLS, looking good is a nice benefit of WLS, your health is what is the most important thing and best thing you can do for yourself. I will never regret doing this and not once have I asked Why the H***  did I do  this. I maybe only 4 weeks out but it has been great. Plus I am down 35 pounds and 2 blouse sizes.
Congratulations!!!!! Wishing you the very best on your new journey.

Congrats on getting your date! Some people just seem to do really well after surgery but some seem to have a few problems. I was one of those people who wanted to be in and out of the hospital, but ended up having a 6 day stay. All you can do is just listen to your doctor and of course your own body! And as you have seen, if you ever need help or have questions about your journey, everyone on this site is here for you!!

Take care!

Congrats.  It is amazing how something you have been working toward throws you into a panic.  Just relax and enjoy the ride.  I am right in front of you and will save room on the loser's bench.  May we both have smooth sailing thru surgery and recovery.     Melissa

Wahoo!   What a terrific post!  You sound so ready for this .  I'm thrilled for you as my first "surgiversary" comes up on 10/1!  I wouldn't take it back for all the money in the world.  This surgery and weightloss saved my life and most likely, my job.  xo  Take good care and know that we're all behind you!    Kim
